Four new Coronavirus cases were announced on Friday by the so-called ‘health ministry’ in the Turkish-held north from checks conducted yesterday on 77 people, raising the total there to 61.
The new cases come from Rizokarpaso and Yalousa, according to CNA.
It should be noted that one of the Lapithos cases announced this morning by ‘health minister’ Ali Pilli is not part of today’s positives but was announced last night.
Yesterday nine new cases were initially announced in the occupied areas (all from Karpas area) and one later in the evening of a person in Lapithos.
A total of 13 cases are from the Karpas area and the villages of Ayia Triada, Yialousa and Rizokarpaso.
29 of the 61 confirmed cases are Turkish-Cypriots, one from Turkmenistan and of the 31 German tourists found positive only two remain in hospital (29 have been discharged).
According to information obtained by CNA, none of the confirmed cases in the Karpas area are from the Greek-Cypriot enclaved population.
