EY has been named the #1 professional services employer for the fourth consecutive year in Universum’s 2019 “World’s Most Attractive Employers” annual ranking – moving up one place on 2018 to become the second most attractive employer overall. The 2019 ranking is based on a survey of 247,235 students of business, engineering and IT from top academic institutions across 12 of the world’s largest economies.
EY scored highest among other professional services employers for professional training and development, opportunities to take on challenging work and for being a good reference for future careers. EY was ranked #1 professional services employer in four countries: China, France, Russia and India.
EY has also once again been named and moved up 12 places to 7th place in the 2019 Great Place to Work “World’s Best Workplaces” list, which is voted for by EY people. Organisations ranked on the list are judged as having excellent policies and practices that support a culture of trust, and this is the fifth consecutive year EY has been named on the list.
There have been approximately US$530m of EY investment in training, and more than 14 million formal hours in learning have been conducted with a continued focus on training in emerging technology throughout the organisation.
New programmes have been introduced to prepare for the future of work, including LEAD – a new global model for career development and performance – and an externally validated and industry-recognised digital credentials programme known as EY Badges. The programme helps EY people cultivate skills related to emerging technology, innovation and sectors. This year, more than 50,000 badges have been initiated and more than 10,000 earned, with data visualisation and RPA (robotic process automation) among the most earned badges to date.
Today, there are more than 284,000 EY people in more than 150 countries, having reported combined global revenues of US$36.4b in FY19.
Stavros Pantzaris, Country Managing Partner of EY Cyprus commented: “Universum’s annual ranking once again confirms that students around the world, as well as our own people, see EY as an organisation that can provide an exceptional career experience. We work hard to create a culture that values and rewards human talent, creative thinking, the pursuit of innovation and commitment to quality. This is a precondition for building trust and creating value for our clients as we help them navigate an ever-changing business environment.”
