What does the Cyprus Energy Agency do?

Sustainable development: this is the focus of the Cyprus Energy Agency, a non-government, non-profit organisation set up in 2009 and engaged in the battle against climate change in close cooperation with the European Commission.

 

This is does by raising public awareness about energy issues. In an interview, Andreas Pastides, the Cyprus Energy Centre’s communication officer  outline how the smart energy for Europe initiative helps local authorities in their efforts to protect the environment.
Most of the programmes of the Cyprus Energy Centre are financed by the European Union. The Centre lays particular emphasis on renewable and alternative sources of energy. It offers Cypriot households an application (Saving Energy Application) which can track energy consumption in their homes and help savings. It is available on the CEA’s website.
