Eat & Drink Famagusta Di Capilla Seaside Stories

Di Capilla Seaside Stories

The caption in the title is not random. This magnificent location, which has just been remodeled and stands only metres from the vast blue sea, is the place where you will go to live out your own seaside stories. The owner of Di Capilla Seaside Stories is one of Cyprus’ most well known chefs, Louis Papageorgiou. You can arrive in the morning and plan to stay for the afternoon, you can set anchor and enjoy your newspapers and coffee, or you can visit around noon for lunch, perhaps go later for afternoon coffee, sweets or a smoothie made from all fresh fruit. You can also go in the evening to enjoy your dinner and watch the moon bounce off the sea. For trying new things, there’s plenty to go on. There is a loaded seafood platter or its counterpart with meat, nice pasta dishes, homemade burger with a fresh cut of Cypriot potatoes, among others. This year there are also additions to the menu. These “chef’s dishes” include pork with rosemary, golden apple quince with Commandaria wine, and stuffed chicken with cheese and sun dried tomato in an herb crust. There will also be weekly surprises at Di Capilla. On the sweet side, we never say no to a mahallepi with rose ice cream or loukoumades set to go on the menu starting from June. Sunday buffet is also a popular feature, with €13 for adults and €6 for minors aged 5-15.
