The 604 new permanent posts in education approved by the Council of Ministers will cost the state €2 million per year.
This is a very small amount compared to the multiple benefits that will result from the implementation of this decision. First of all, the tenure of these teachers will contribute to the more effective implementation of policies aimed at improving our education system, the timely staffing of our schools and their more efficient operation.
Secondly, it will reduce the insecurity of children due to the constant movement of their teachers and will eliminate the job stress for the teachers themselves, which results from their non-permanence. Finally, it will bring our policies in line with similar European policies, which provide for a small percentage of temporary teachers and will allow for the evaluation of all teachers (which was not the case for temporary teachers) with very positive consequences for the quality of our education.
