Labour conditions in Greece are in the Dark Ages

Relevant News

At a time when the workweek is being shortened in several member states across Europe, Greece is moving in the opposite direction.

The Greek government is effectively ending the five-day workweek by legislating a six-day workweek. Specifically, for a few years now, some countries have been piloting a four-day workweek without a reduction in pay, and others are moving in that direction.

In contrast, as of July 1, businesses in Greece that operate continuously with rotating shifts will have the option to require their employees to work a sixth day, with a 40% daily wage increase for that day.
