Some journalists bear responsibility for the exaggerated promotion of the Monastery of Saint Habakkuk and its abbot. You only have to search the internet for interviews or presentations mainly from TV channels, to find out.
Journalists (with or without quotation marks) reproduced the ‘miracles’ and acted as if they were touts of the monastery, helping to attract believers, patients and travellers, many of whom were seeking, in good faith, solace in something that was presented to them as almost godlike.
