Anastasiades awarded the illegal fish farm an innovation prize

Relevant News

Mockery and deception is at another level in our country, as evidenced by the colossal scandal involving the illegal development of fish farms and a luxury resort in Trimiklini and Silikou.

As if the violation of the law and arbitrary actions over the past 15 years involving the complicity of 11 state services were not enough, this development also received an innovation award in 2016 from the hands of the former President of the Republic, Nicos Anastasiades.

Specifically, it received the Cyprus Innovation Award – OEB 2016 in the Primary Sector category for the cultivation of the Mediterranean mussel and for the overall production of goods and services.

It is recalled that the violations began in 2009, meaning it was awarded while operating illegally for seven years already. Among the arbitrary actions are the illegal diversion of water from the Kouris River, trespassing on state land, environmental destruction, illegal construction of facilities, and the possibility of committing fraud related to securing European subsidies.
