CyprusInno: Entrepreneurs, innovators and policy makers to meet in buffer zone

CyprusInno will host its Island-Wide Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Analysis Readout + 7th Business Mixer event at the Ledra Palace Hotel in the Buffer Zone on Tuesday, marking the official launch of the organization’s island-wide business ecosystem analysis.

For the past few months, CyprusInno has conducted an island-wide research effort to better understand the needs and challenges of business owners/entrepreneurs across Cyprus with the objective of using the data to inform the entrepreneurial ecosystem of identifying needs and gaps, and furthermore unite the ecosystem by bringing together all stakeholders for collaboration.

Topics explored include challenges faced when starting, growing, and scaling a business in Cyprus, talent gaps, entrepreneur profiles, growth opportunities, and more.  An integral part of this survey also assessed general familiarity with regulations for business across the green line, as well as how it’s being used by business owners in Cyprus today and existing opportunities to enhance collaboration across the green line. The event will feature a presentation on the main findings of the assessment, followed by a business mixer networking reception.

The British High Commission supports this initiative in its endeavours to help Cyprus establish itself as an entrepreneurial hub, using entrepreneurship as a vehicle of bi-communal engagement which fosters collaboration and prosperity across the island.

High Commissioner Stephen Lillie has stated that “Over the past three years, the British High Commission has shared and supported CyprusInno’s vision and enthusiasm in building entrepreneurship links island-wide. We hope that the survey results will stimulate discussions on what further measures can be taken or implemented by the private sector as well as the leaders of the two communities in an effort to further broaden entrepreneurial activity and peacebuilding.”

CyprusInno’s business events are some of the largest gatherings of Cypriot businesspeople, entrepreneurs, startups, innovators, student entrepreneurs, trade experts, economists, policy makers, and professionals, as well as other Cyprus based community members, of all ages and from all over the island, to create lasting business relationships.
