Cyprus to appoint military attaché in Washington

The Cabinet decided on Wednesday to appoint a military attaché in Washington.

According to Deputy Government Spokeswoman Klelia Vasiliou, the decision is part of the effort to strengthen bilateral ties between the Republic of Cyprus and the United States of America and to engage in a balanced defence diplomacy.

The appointment follows a 2011 Cabinet decision concerning the appointment of military attachés in important capitals, she added.
