The President of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, spoke on Thursday on the phone with the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu and congratulated him for the favourable outcome in the March 2 elections. The two men also agreed to cooperate over measures to contain the spread of coronavirus.
According to a written statement by Deputy Government Spokesman Panayiotis Sentonas, the two leaders reaffirmed the strong ties and common will of the two countries to pursue a strategic cooperation for peace, security and stability in the region.
The President of Cyprus and the Premier of Israel also discussed measures to contain the spread of coronavirus and agreed to jointly cooperate with countries from the region to this aim, the announcement concludes.
