SOFIA AND ANDREAS TRADITIONAL HOUSE

Cypriot Cuisine Award 2019 – A very special traditional Cypriot taverna. Sophia makes her own halloumi, white cheese, anari and yoghurt, bakes her own fermented bread (sour dough) daily in the wood-fired oven. The menu is based on the raw ingredients from the village and the surrounding area. The space has been decorated like a ‘small museum’ with traditional objects and constumes. In the summer the restaurant moves in the yard under the grape arbour.

Βραβείο Κυπριακής Κουζίνας 2019 – Ιδιαίτερη περίπτωση παραδοσιακής κυπριακής ταβέρνας. Η Σοφία τυροκομεί μόνη της χαλλούμι, λευκό τυρί, αναρή και γιαούρτι, ζυμώνει καθημερινά προζυμένιο ψωμί και ψήνει τα πάντα στον ξυλόφουρνο. Το μενού στηρίζεται σε πρώτες ύλες από το χωριό και τη γύρω περιοχή. Ο χώρος τους έχει διαμορφωθεί σαν ένα «μικρό μουσείο» με παραδοσιακά αντικείμενα και φορεσιές. Το καλοκαίρι στρώνουν τα τραπέζια στην αυλή, κάτω από την κληματαριά.
