Cypriot employees of J & P (Saudi Arabia) Ltd say they are in dire straits, having gone unpaid for the past three months. They also have money to collect for 2015, 2016 and 2017.
In a letter to the company, they said that despite numerous appeals and an undertaking by the company to inform them about its plans by June 15, they have received no response.
In their letter, the employees say that they have so far helped finance the company with some €23m (in wages) as a sign of dedication and to support it during tough times and it is now the time for the company to reciprocate.
They said the living conditions for most are tough as they are forced to remain in their living quarters due to the non-renewal of IQAMAS (work and residence permit) and difficulties in repatriating because of the non-payment of airline tickets.
