Maria Mesariti

Actress, Maria Mesariti, introduces us to her favourite spots for coffee, food and drinks.

-Where do you usually enjoy your morning coffee?

-The truth is that I’m always in a hurry in the morning, either to go to the theater or to the shooting. Many times I do not get to drink coffee, but when I’m more relaxed, I prefer to make the most of my family time. My grandmother’s coffee is the best!

-Which is your favorite city yard?

-Garden Day & Night. It’s a fantastic place, comfortable, serene, romantic

-Where can you find the best souvlaki?

-At souvlakia “I Apantisi.”

-Where do you find authentic meze dishes?

-I can not think of another place but Agia Anna! It is a very beautiful traditional tavern with rich quality meze and good music. They welcome you with zivania and commandaria and the food is plentiful and delicious! I strongly recommend it.

-Favorite shop in your neighborhood?

-I spend my summers in the beautiful Ayia Napa. Kaliva on the beach is the place that I choose to go with my friends to have fun. Dance, music, drinks and swimming.

-Could you reveal a well-hidden city gem?

-Nicosia within the walls has a lot of well-hidden beauty. I prefer Taht-el-kale, this colorful historical neighborhood.

-A restaurant that holds a special place in your heart? A recommended dish?

-I love the sea and enjoy my food while gazing at it. I like Aigialos restaurant in Protaras. Its fish meze are just what you’re looking for.

-Which is your favorite kind of cuisine and where you can enjoy it in Cyprus?

-I am an easy person in terms of food. I like to try and enjoy the gastronomic adventures that every kitchen can offer me. Having a favorite type of kitchen is boring for me!

-The best place to hang out with friends?

-Ammos beach bar with good company.

-Where could you find the best cocktails?

-At Cliff Bar in Grecian Park Hotel. Surrounded by trees, the combination of cocktail with the aura of the sea is magic.

-Where do you usually find delightful sweets?

-At Boutique Patisserie.

-Which place do you remember fondly?

-Famagusta! It is my father’s city and I always wanted to visit it. When I did it, I just fell in love. I do not know how, but one day, I want to live there. I will have a home by the sea!
