Petros Konnaris and Evagoras Vanezis invite you to the book launch of Performing Silence: Process based artefact #3. The book includes a series of texts based on the project Performing Silence that was presented in April 2021 at Drive Drive in the frame of Terpsichore 2021 program.
On the 19th of July there will be a performance focusing on the presentation of the book based on the methodology of the project inviting the visitors to read, listen, observe and embody the project’s practice.

Petros (Cyprus, 1988) is working between the fields of live art, participatory art, and dance. He received an MA in Live Arts and Performance Studies from Theater Academy of UniArts Helsinki. He has also studied Dance (University of Nicosia, 2011) and Mathematics and Statistics (University of Cyprus, 2011). He received a DanceWeb Scholarship in 2012, part of the ImpulsTanz festival in Vienna. Petros performed his work in various festivals and events in Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Spain, Finland, Germany, Singapore and Thailand.
In his work Petros explores the performativity and the embodiment of caring, intimacy and gentleness, nakedness and playfulness. His artistic work manifests in the form of everyday situations, durational happenings, 1-1(one with one) performances, public interventions, and performance scores. His methodology includes the use of conversation and text, performing yourself in extraordinary situations, and feminist and queer discourse.
Petros is based in Cyprus and is currently the artistic director of Dance House Lefkosia and the vice president of Nea Kinisi Cyprus.

Evagoras Vanezis is an independent curator, researcher, and writer based in Nicosia. His practice incorporates a strong interest in rethinking processes of relationality to the world, working along poetic and fluid materialisms. He organizes various exhibitions, programs and publishing projects. Recent projects include Anachoresis: Upon Inhabiting Distances, the Cyprus Pavilion at the 17th International Architecture Exhibition, Venice Biennale (co-curator, 2021) and Formworks, Thkio Ppalies Project Space (2019 – 2022). He is currently a fellow of A Natural Oasis? (BJCEM – Biennale of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean) and Micro & Macro Dramaturgies in Dance (Anghiari Dance Hub and Marche Teatro (Italy), Bora Bora (Denmark), Dance House Lemesos (Cyprus), DansBrabant (the Netherlands) and Tanec Praha (Czechia).
