Crash vehicle catches fire at Limassol police station

A vehicle that had been involved in Tuesday’s double road fatality sustained slight damage after it caught fire a little after midnight.

The car is parked at Limassol traffic police HQ and is evidence as police continue to investigate the horrendous crash on the Nicosia-Limassol highway that killed two and injured two others, one critically.

It is the vehicle which veered into the right lane to avoid the axle which had fallen onto the road. In doing so it hit the double cabin truck with the four Egyptians. Two of them were killed, a third was critically injured and the fourth sustained lesser injuries.

The fire is believed to have started as a result of short circuit.
