The health ministry has expressed concern over the rise of patients being treated in state hospitals across the island and a meeting with the epidemiological committee on Tuesday will decide the next steps.
A lockdown has not been ruled out if pressures continue on the health system with the same pace.
Hospitalised patients have now reached 180, with 54 in critical or serious condition.
74 are being treated at the Famagusta General, the referral institution for covid-19. Six are in the increased care unit. The hospital’s capacity is 76.
49 people are being hosted at the Eden Resort Rehabilitation Centre in Tersefanou and will remain there until they are covid-free.
