Bus companies across Cyprus are in the process of disinfecting 600 buses as a preventive measure against Coronavirus, Phileleftheros reports.
The decision was taken on Thursday in a meeting at the Ministry of Transport between the heads of the six competent bus companies (Osel, Emel, Osea, Osypa, Zenon, Intercity) in the presence of the Minister of Transport Yiannis Karousos.
Some of the companies said they had already obtained advice from experts and trained bus drivers accordingly through seminars.
It was decided that specialist companies should be employed to conduct the disinfections and place special emphasis on regular disinfections on sensitive parts like handles.
The Minister accepted the suggestion of the bus companies and it was decided that each company should announce a procurement process for its own district to disinfect 600 buses.
The procedure will start imminently.
