President Nicos Anasastiades and officials at the Presidential Palace who come into contact with him are to be tested for coronavirus, purely as a precaution, government spokesman Kyriakos Koushos told the Cyprus News Agency on Tuesday.
“There are no suspect cases. But the decision was taken by the presidency for tests to be taken as a precaution to be taken to protect the president and others at the Presidential Palace. At the same time we are keeping the required distances and checking everyone’s temperatures,” Koushos — who was also tested — added.
The spokesman said ministers will also be tested.
The Council of Ministers will meet on Thursday to approve bills relating to the coronavirus outbreak so that they can go to the plenary of the House of Representative for approval on Friday.
