A Covid-19-positive patient was taken to Famagusta Hospital ICU on Saturday morning after presenting respiratory complications, the CNA reports.
It was added that as the Famagusta Hospital has not yet been manned with ICU staff, in case the patient requires intubation he will be transferred to the ICU at Limassol Hospital.
13 people are currently being treated at Famagusta hospital which has been designated as the referral hospital for Covid-19.
Yesterday, three patients cured from the virus were discharged; a taxi driver and his wife and an 80 year old man who was one of the first Coronavirus cases in Cyprus.
A 70 year old patient found positive to the virus and treated at Famagusta hospital is still in critical condition. The man’s condition was critical before he contracted the virus due to underlying health problems.
