Coronavirus: Only ‘citizens’ of occupied areas allowed to cross checkpoints, says Ozersay

Only “citizens” of Turkish-occupied Cyprus are allowed to cross checkpoints, effective Thursday at 2 pm, said “foreign minister” Kudret Özersay via Facebook today as part of measures to contain Covid-19.

“Minister of transport” Tolga Atakan had said earlier that entering northern Cyprus from air, sea and land is suspended until midnight on April 1, and that any repatriated “citizens” will be quarantined for 14 days.

It has also been announced that funding will be injected into the “ministry of health” for Coronavirus-related spending.
