Taking its cue from Paphos Municipality, Larnaca Municipality has announced that it is launching a programme to help the elderly and vulnerable groups by delivering basic supplies.
The initiative aims at helping those most vulnerable if they contract coronavirus to stay home.
“From tomorrow, Thursday, March 19, 2020 a programme ‘I stay at home and cater for vulnerable groups and the elderly,” it said in an announcement.
It will deliver basic supplies to the elderly and those with health issues and who do not have friends or relatives to help.
All those who belong to these groups and are not eligible for the municipality’s food bank can telephone 24816568 και 97897694, from 8.30 am to 1.30 pm daily, except Saturday and Sunday.
The municipality’s food bank is continuing is operation and accepting new applications, especially by people affected by the current situation.
