The Health Ministry has invited expressions of interest in a tender it plans to launch for the purchase of masks and other protective equipment for medical professionals who will be handling confirmed or suspect coronavirus cases.
It said the equipment must reach Cyprus by air. Expressions of interest must be submitted within three days.
The ministry is asking for 250,000 hypoallergenic masks with elastic, that cannot be penetrated by water and be three or four layers with high (98%) filtering of bacteria.
It is also asking for 40,000 single use face shields that must offer protection for the sides and length of the face and the forehead in line with EU specifications.
The ministry is also asking for 40,000 single use masks which offer FFP3 level protection and have three layers, made with polypropylene.
Also wanted are 40,000 scrub suits that provide protection from liquid spillage and 40,000 hair caps. Other protective gear required are 40,000 cover boots.
In addition the ministry wants 25,000 waterproof single use robes (medium, large and extra large) long sleeves and reaching to the top of the boot.
The list also includes 2000 anti-scratch and anti-fog glasses that can be used several times and be accompanied by disinfection instructions.
Finally, the ministry is looking for 1,000 cartons with disinfectant wipes in packets of up to 200 wipes per box and which can destroy the coronavirus Covid 19.
