Coronavirus: Child tests negative, passenger from Holland to be tested

A four year old boy who had come into contact with a confirmed coronavirus case has tested negative, philenews reports citing sources from the Health Ministry.

The boy was admitted to Makarios Hospital with temperature last night and placed in quarantine pending the results of tests.

He is due to be discharged later today.

Meanwhile,  a passenger who arrived at Larnaca Airport from the Netherlands on Thursday was detected by thermal camera to have a temperature and will undergo tests.

Passengers on the airplane will also be screened by medical staff.

Yesterday a passenger on board a flight from Gatwick with high temperature was sent to Nicosia Hospital pending tests. Passengers on the airplane were taken to the old terminal building where they were screened before being instructed to self-isolate.

Some of the passengers were uncooperative and police were brought in.
