Animal Party Cyprus issued another plea on Saturday for pet food focusing on severe shortages in cat food as a result of the Covid-19 crisis.
It explained that many businesses that fed stray cats like hotels and restaurants have now suspended operations as part of recent Covid-19 measures and as a result hundreds of kittens and pregnant female cats are left without a source of food.
The party calls on the state, organised groups and anyone who wishes to help to donate cat food (dry food, cans, sachets, powder milk for newborns) to tackle the crisis.
“We need to respond to the cries of volunteers and rescuers to get help to the cats and kittens in need as soon as possible,” the announcement said.
