Alpha TV journalist and presenter reveals her favourite spots for food, coffee and drinks in Nicosia and her hometown Limassol.

-Where do you usually enjoy your morning coffee?

-Truth is that I have my morning coffee at work, almost every day. George who manages Alpha’s cafe makes great coffees and also makes my morning cappucino, in which I add a drop of caramel.

-Which is your favourite city yard?

-It’s not exactly a yard but I will say Pieto. It is a very unique place, with many lights, colours and a positive aura which puts you in a good mood.

-Where can you find the best souvlaki?

-At 3+1 in Latsia. Especially their chicken kebab is very tasty and I can visit them often as they are near Alpha’s premises.

-Where do you find authentic meze dishes?

-At Valtou Rigani. All their dishes are wonderful and in very good prices.

-Favourite shop in your neighbourhood?

-I haven’t discovered it yet.

-Could you reveal a well-hidden city gem?

-It’s probably not a secret for Nicosians but when I first went to Pivo at the Old City I was astonished. They make their own beers which are great!

-A restaurant that holds a special place in your heart? A recommended dish?

-Pi in my hometown Limassol. I always order the chicken & mango salad and I add pomegranate, mushrooms and artichoke.

-Which is your favourite kind of cuisine and where you can enjoy it in Cyprus?

-I have a weak spot for Italian cuisine and the best place to enjoy it a tasty pasta is La Boca in Limassol.

-The best place to hang out with friends?

-Mallon Glikis in Saripolou. By far my favourite. We usually gather there with my friends. I’ve spent my birthday many times there!

-Where could you find the best cocktails?

-At PIER ONE at the old port. You can accompany your cocktail with a magnificent view.

-Where do you usually find delightful sweets?

-At Ilektrika Idi in Saripolou. They usually serve them in beautiful little jars.

-Which place do you remember fondly?

-The ballet insitute I used to go, Frosso Hadjigeorgiou in Limassol. I always remember it with nostalgia and very much love, as I used to be a student there for 14 years.
