The Paphos District Court remanded in eight days custody on Tuesday eight Syrian nationals who had been arrested in relation to a case of premeditated murder committed in Paphos on April 10.
The victim was a 20-year-old Syrian who was stabbed to death in a fight. His body was found the following day on a Chlorakas beach.
The eight are understood to have been involved in the fight and were arrested in Paphos and Limassol. Two of them had injuries to their hands.
They were arrested after police obtained a testimony that they had agreed to meet on the beach in order to assault the victim as a punishment for ‘issues of honour’.
