Authorities investigating illegal constructions in Akamas

Paphos’ District Office is investigating illegal constructions in Akamas, Interior Minister Constantinos Petrides told Parliament.

Responding to a question submitted by Green MP Giorgos Perdikis, the Minister said that authorities are aware of the existence of two constructions which operate as leisure centres without a licence in the Akamas.

According to the Minister, Peyia municipality has filed a complaint in Paphos’ District Court against an unlicensed wooden construction in the area Aspros Potamos.

The Minister said that authorities recently removed beach beds and umbrellas that the owner of the construction had installed on the beach nearby.

The second unlicensed construction is located on Lara beach. Paphos’ District Office filed a complaint against it.

The hearing for the case took place on March 8, the Minister said.
