Animal Party to start campaign against animal poisonings

The Animal Party and the community council of Argaka will host an awareness event tomorrow aiming to kick start a campaign against animal poisoning.

The event comes as a response to numerous reported poisonings in the village.

According to the Animal Party, at least 13 dogs and many cats were poisoned “in just over one year on one street alone” in Argaka.

In an announcement issued on Tuesday, the party says that poisoning “has become an epidemic” in Cyprus and particularly in the village.

“Poisoning is the most barbaric and criminal way for a human being to act in order to ‘get rid of’ those voiceless animals who were loved family members,” the party says.

For this reason, in cooperation with the council of Argaka, they are starting a campaign and an information conference entitled “Poisoning innocent animals is not civilisation but barbarism.”

The meeting will take place at 6 pm at the coffee shop (Sindesmos) in Argaka on Thursday, May 23.

For more information you can call the Animal Party at 70078080 or 99185292.
