Agriculture Ministry urges public ‘open your house to a suffering animal’

The Agriculture Ministry has made a fresh appeal to the public to adopt from a shelter.

In a message on Facebook, accompanied by a video also posted in April, it said: “Let’s open our house to an animal which is suffering. Find out about stray animals and visit the animal shelter in your area.”

Animal shelters are struggling to cope with thousands of dogs which are dumped or abandoned.

“Hecannot tell you his story. Wjat he’s been through to end up here. Whether he lived happily with a family or lived tied and forgotten in the yard. Whether he lost his way home or whether someone let him lose his way. What he can tell you is that he will love you for a lifetime,” the short video says.
