A 26 year old Greek Cypriot man was remanded in custody for seven days by the district court in Limassol, in connection with stealing thousands of bullets and pellets from a container owned by a 64 year old licensed gun seller in Limassol.
He was arrested on Thursday at a friends’ home in Paphos.
The man, who has admitted guilt, was also being sought in connection with other cases, with warrants pending against him.
As heard in the Limassol district court, he is one of three people who received the 16 cartons stolen bullets and pellets as well a loaded pistol.
Two other people are being sought.
A 26 year old man is in custody in connection with the same case. He appears to be the individual who delivered the ammunition to the other three.
The men stole 114 thousand bullets, worth 17 thousand euro and 50 thousand pellets worth 11 thousand euro. The ammunition was later recovered.
