A boat with 36 Syrians on board landed on the beach in occupied Limnitis on Wednesday morning.
The boat was spotted around 4:30 am in the sea near Limnitis, Nicosia distict.
According to philenews, when the boat reached shore, the refugees disembarked and walked to Kato Pyrgos, where they were located by authorities.
Then they were taken by a waiting bus to the police station in Polis Chrysochous, where they are currently being interviewed.
After, they will be transferred to the Refugee Reception Centre in Kokkinotrimithia.
Kato Pyrgos Community Leader Nicos Cleanthous told the Cyprus News Agency that the coast in that area should be patrolled to put off waves of migrants arriving there.
Local authorities expressed their dissatisfaction over the fact that Turkish-Cypriot authorities did not intervene to stop the refugees from crossing to Republic of Cyprus-controlled area.
