Police reported 315 violations of the government’s lockdown decree in the last 24 hours, of which 121 in the 12 hour period of 6 pm on Monday to 6 am on Tuesday.
Police spokesman Christos Andreou told CyBC on Tuesday morning that 12,846 checks were conducted in the last 24 hours that found 315 violations.
And 1298 checks were of business establishments, he said, where police found one violation in the Morphou area.
For the 12 hour period overnight, police carried out 3332 checks and booked 121 drivers and pedestrians as follows.
Nicosia: 1266 checks, 60 booked
Limassol: 650 checks, 29 booked
Larnaca: 582 checks, 11 booked
Paphos: 210 checks, 14 booked
Famagusta: 270 checks, 4 booked
Morphou: 203 checks, 3 booked
Police HQ traffic unit ans MMAD: 131 and 20 checks respectively, no-one booked
The Minister of Health announced new stricter lockdown measures on Monday afternoon limiting circulation to once a day for members of the public with some exceptions.
