Eighteen patients at the Oncology Ward of Limassol Hospital have tested negative for the coronavirus, initial tests showed, following another patient at the unit having contracted the virus.
Out of 30 members of the nursing staff at the unit who came into contact with the patient, 24 have tested negative, with results on a further six expected soon.
Four out of five doctors at the unit are also negative, with one result pending.
General staff working at the Oncology Unit have been cleared as well.
If all are confirmed clear following the results of the second test, the Limassol Oncology Unit will return to normal operation tomorrow, following disinfection and all the necessary medical checks.
