One hundred officials have been trained to boost efforts by labour inspectors and police to monitor compliance with health and safety rules that apply to businesses — shops and construction sites — that go back to work tomorrow, Labour Minister Zeta Emilianidou said on Sunday.
She told CNA that 100 officials have been trained by the director of the labour inspection unit and will be out on duty as from tomorrow.
The ministry has also issued health and safety instructions for businesses that will reopen.
“About 100 public servants have been trained and their exclusive responsibility now is to carry out these inspections and see that the measures are being adhered to,” she said adding that police and other agencies will also be involved.
“We will carry out inspections daily and we must all comply with the safety, health and hygiene measures. It is very important so that we can overcome this situation,” she said.
