Tourism stakeholders in Paphos are optimistic due to an expected surge in arrivals from Germany.
Data up to mid-April from German travel agencies indicate that the estimates and data analysed for Paphos at the recent international tourism exhibition ITB Berlin are now fully confirmed:
Tourist flows from the large German market to Paphos for the remainder of 2024 will constitute an unprecedented surge, largely offsetting the ongoing losses from Russia and Israel due to conflicts.
Based on the latest bookings and expressions of interest from tour operators in the country, as well as individually from airlines, Germany will play a much larger role in tourist traffic to Paphos this coming summer compared to the previous five years, reinforcing the province’s strong position on the tourism map.
Tourism stakeholders in the province additionally believe that there is ample room for improvement in air connectivity to Paphos and the number of visitor arrivals, as well as a need for further promotion of our country in this market. In this context, Germany is regarded as a high-priority market for Paphos, which can significantly contribute to extending the tourist season and attracting visitors year-round.
